I am a Ballymena-based artist, who goes by the name Lizzie. I study Graphic Design and Illustration at Ulster University Belfast, and I am currently in my final year. I discovered my passion for art when I was young – always experimenting and making a mess! After studying Art and Design for GCSE, my reputation as an artist grew. This led me to some amazing opportunities, such as leading my own art workshops with younger people, as I have been given many opportunities to lead art workshops. I have been able to lead workshops for GBs, Holiday Clubs, Elms Village, and Hub Church Belfast for the students. I have also painted murals inside local churches. Setting up an Instagram account in 2018, Art and Soul by Lizzie, has given me many opportunities to express my work on a global scale. Some of my work has even made it to Australia! During the early Covid-19 lockdown, I carried out my workshops online through Zoom (or from a social distance). Personally, I find that my best ideas come best when there is a cup of coffee in her hand and her music blasting.
